The spokeswoman for the family of a slain wealthy Florida couple says the safe stolen from their home contained only jewelry, family documents and children’s prescription medication. Spokeswoman Crystal Spencer said Friday that she announced the contents of the safe to put to rest intense speculation and rumors about the Billings family. She did not elaborate.

Two more people have been arrested in the slayings of a wealthy Florida Panhandle couple known for adopting children with autism, Down syndrome and other disabilities. The new arrests, both in a nearby county, bring the total to six.

A sheriff in the Florida Panhandle says six to eight people were involved in the slaying of a wealthy Florida couple known for adopting 12 children with developmental disabilities and other problems. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said Monday that robbery was one of “numerous motives.“ He says the person who masterminded the crime is one of the three people in custody but authorities are still looking for at least four more suspects.
