UPDATED: Columbia County Sexual Assault Suspect Sought
According to Capt. Steve Morris, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public in the identification of a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred on August 21st, at the Kroger store, located at 4115 Columbia Road, in Martinez. UPDATE: The same suspect may have been seen at the Evans Kroger around 8:15 a.m. He was seen driving a dark colored car, possibly a Nissan Sentra.

Columbia Road Reopened After Gas Leak Repaired
WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that a portion of Columbia Road, in Columbia County, is closed due to a gas leak. We have no further information, at this point. Count on WJBF News Channel 6 to provide more information as it becomes available. UPDATE: We have learned that Columbia Road, at the entrance to Patriot’s Park, has been reopened.

Columbia County Officers Run For Good Cause
Local law enforcement were out bright and early, Wednesday morning, supporting a good cause. About a dozen Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies took part in this year’s annual law enforcement torch run.

Burglary Gone Bad Leaves Grovetown Woman Fighting For Her Life
A Grovetown neighborhood is on watch, after a woman is brutally attacked. It happened on Hot Springs Road, in the Orchard Hill subdivision, near Columbia Road. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has the details.
Woman Beaten After House Broken Into In Columbia County
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to be on the lookout for a break-in suspect who attacked a woman in her home after she returned from taking her kids to school. The break-in and attack occurred in the Orchard Hill subdivision, off of Columbia Road, on Hot Springs Court, around 9:00 a.m., Wednesday morning.

Columbia County Financial Card Fraud Suspects Sought
According to Captain Steve Morris, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office needs help in identifying suspects who allegedly stole a man’s credit cards and used them at everal businesses in Columbia County. The victim says his car was broken into in Richmond County on March 5th. Two of his credit cards were allegedly stolen and used later that day.
