The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing woman. Jessica Proctor, 20, (aka Misty) was last seen leaving her Martinez, Georgia residence on October 31st in an unknown vehicle with a female known only as Janice.

Columbia Co. Babysitter Accused of Murdering 22-Month-Old Child

A Columbia County woman is jailed tonight, accused of murder in the death of a 22-month-old child.  The Columbia County Sheriff’s office identifies the babysitter as Lowanda Tripp, 39, of Martinez.

A Burke County woman is behind bars, charged with hit and run in Myrtle Beach, SC. Wednesday night, 31-year-old Kathryn Michelle Johnson was arrested where she works, in Columbia County.

Flood Watch Issued Through Wednesday Evening

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a flood watch for portions of east central Georgia and central South Carolina.

UPDATED: Grovetown Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

The Grovetown Department of Public Safety is searching for suspect in an armed robbery. The robbery took place at a Grovetown residence on Saturday, October 24th. The suspect has been identified as Odonnis Levar Corley. UPDATE: Corley has now been arrested.

UPDATED: Gas Leak Closes Road In Columbia County

A natural gas leak on Hereford Farm Road has caused a temporary road closure between Farmington Subdivision and Blanchard Road. UPDATE: One lane of Hereford Farm Road is in the process of being opened. This is still going to cause congestion in that area…during this time of day…so it’s recommended that motorists use alternate routes, if possible.
