Three Month Probe Nets Multiple Aiken County Drug Arrests

SC Governor Sanford’s affair is the just the latest in a long line of South Carolina political scandals. Just two years ago, then-state treasurer Thomas Ravenel was indicted on federal charges of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute. Gov. Sanford suspended him from office. Aiken County Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) concluded a two-month long narcotics investigation over the weekend, resulting in an Aiken County man’s arrest, and the seizure of narcotics, a weapon, and a undisclosed amount of cash. Deputy Jason Fox observed Jeffery Antonio Wright driving, conducted a traffic stop in the Kalmia Apartments area, in Graniteville, SC located in Aiken County. Found in Mr. Wright’s vehicle was 83 ecstasy pills, an amount of cocaine, and marijuana, a stolen firearm, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Ex-Atlanta Falcons Player Sentenced To 4 Years On Drug Plea
Former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Ken Tippins has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to cocaine possession. Alapaha Chief Assistant District Attorney Charles Stines says Tippins will serve four years followed by six years of probation. In exchange for the cocaine plea, a marijuana possession with intent to distribute charge was dropped.

Former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson has been released from jail on bond following his arrest on charges of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanor marijuana possession. Jail spokeswoman Tracey Flanagan says Anderson was released on $6,000 bond Sunday.
