Storms, Flooding Shut Down Atlanta Public Schools
Hundreds of schools have been shut down as heavy storms move through Georgia. Classes will not be held Tuesday for students at Atlanta, Cobb, Carroll, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Marietta, Rockdale and Paulding schools.

Mayor, Employees Looking For Answers About Cavalier Homes’ Future In Millen, GA
One of Georgia’s oldest factories has closed its doors, in Millen, Georgia. But, everyone from employees to the Mayor aren’t sure if it’s just a temporary shutdown, or the real deal. Cavalier Homes employees about 200 people, and many say they were turned away.

Bridge To SC’s Sullivans Island Closed To Traffic
The swing bridge linking South Carolina’s Sullivans Island to the mainland is stuck open blocking traffic. The Post and Courier of Charleston and the Sullivans Island town web site report electrical problems left the Ben Sawyer Bridge open Monday.

Troubled Allendale, SC Funeral Home Owner Speaks
The owner of a troubled Allendale funeral home is speaking out after losing his business license. The South Carolina Funeral Service Board says someone at the funeral home severed the legs of a 6-foot-7 man so his body would fit into his casket. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has the story.

Some SC Schools Remain Closed From Flu Outbreak
The private South Carolina school where the state’s first swine flu cases were confirmed is reopening, even as public schools in the area remain closed. Newberry Academy reopened Monday, after being closed all last week because students who had been in Mexico on a trip last month became ill. Newberry County public schools closed Friday and remained closed Monday because of the outbreak.

Regulators have shut down Silverton Bank in Georgia and set up a temporary government-controlled bank until a buyer can be found. It was the 30th bank failure this year in the U.S.
5 More Chrysler Plants To Close By End Of 2010
Documents in Chrysler’s bankruptcy case reveal the automaker’s plans to close five more of its plants by the end of 2010. The plants include the Sterling Heights and Conner Avenue assembly plants in Michigan, and the St. Louis North assembly plant in Missouri. Workers react to the closings, and the bankruptcy.
Some SC Schools Remain Closed Amid Flu Concerns
Some South Carolina schools are closed and dozens of people have been asked to voluntarily isolate themselves as officials try to control the spread of swine flu. Officials at Newberry Academy and Mauldin High School say they canceled classes on Friday to help lower the risk of spreading the new virus. The Newberry County School District has also canceled classes in its 14 schools.

SC Officials Identify 2 ‘Probable’ Cases Of Swine Flu
South Carolina health officials say they have identified two probable cases of swine flu in the state and a private school headmaster says those are linked to a student trip to Mexico. The announcement from the South Carolina health department says more testing will be conducted at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
