Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney Says Xavier Dye To Leave Tigers

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says former starting receiver Xavier Dye has asked for his release so he could transfer. Swinney spoke Thursday on WCCP-FM. Athletic spokesman Tim Bourret confirmed Swinney’s comments.

Clemson Welcomes Record Freshman Class

Clemson University says it’s welcoming a record number of freshman this year. The Greenville News reported Tuesday that the school expects a class of more than 3,300 freshman for the fall semester. That’s up about 400 students from the total admitted in recent years.

A Clemson University student from New Jersey who died last week had a form of meningitis. Multiple media outlets report that Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelly said Thursday that lab tests show 20-year-old Danielle Rae Fleming had bacterial meningitis.

The coroner has not confirmed the cause of death…but DHEC says they are working a bacterial menengitis case in Pickens County. Those at the university say…they’re not taking any chances.
