SC Medical University Gets $20 Million Federal Health Grant
The Medical University of South Carolina is getting a $20 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to help in getting medical research from the lab to the patient’s bedside. Top officials of the university in Charleston announced the award on Tuesday.

Aiken Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Melissa Summer said the former Chicago Bears star was released on Wednesday after being treated for Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

SC Launches Online Food Supply Database
An online database designed to help expand market opportunities for South Carolina’s farmers and fishermen, and put locally grown and caught food on residents’ plates, is set to be unveiled. Officials with the state and federal agriculture departments, South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium and Clemson University plan to demonstrate S.C. Market Maker on Wednesday.
