SC Cops Say Serial Killer Suspect Slain In NC
South Carolina law enforcement officials say a burglary suspect slain in North Carolina is the serial killer who shot five people to death in South Carolina in recent days.
North Augusta Officials Looking Closely At SC Serial Killer Investigation
As the coverage of the serial killings in Gaffney, South Carolina has gone on, several people in the CSRA have noticed a similarity between the serial killers sketch and one of the still wanted suspect in the deadly Huddle House in North Augusta, several years ago. Well, WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that North Augusta investigators are looking into that similarity, but they caution that there is no evidence, at this point, to connect the events.
Search Warrant At Gastonia, NC Home May Help Determine If There’s A Serial Killer Connection
Investigators including those working on the Cherokee County serial killer are waiting to remove a champagne color Ford Explorer in Gastonia, NC that matches the description of the one the serial killer is thought to be driving. An officer says that SLED is trying to get a warrant to enter the house. They say the SUV will not be removed until then.
Gaffney, SC Is A Community On Edge After Serial Killings
Police are searching for a serial killer in a shooting spree in Gaffney, South Carolina, a small town less than 200 miles from Augusta, outside Spartanburg. Gastonia, NC Police Officer Shot and Wounded, Suspect Killed, Listen to Calls for Help
A North Carolina police officer has been wounded and a suspect killed during a confrontation after the officer responded to a burglary call. It happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning at a home on Dallas Spencer Mountain Road, in Gaston County, west of Charlotte. WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is now investigating this shooting to see if there is a connection to the Cherokee County serial killings.

A South Carolina sheriff says deputies are searching to find the man they believe has killed five people in a week. Cherokee County Sheriff Bill Blanton told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday that the three separate shootings are linked through evidence. WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division is investigating a police-involved shooting in Gastonia, NC where a suspect was killed to see if there are any links to the Cherokee County serial killings. UPATED: Teen Becomes 5th Death in SC Serial Killer Spree
The youngest victim of the suspected serial killer in Cherokee County is fighting to stay alive Friday night. Authorities aren’t releasing her name, but several family friends tell us Stephen Tyler’s teenage daughter is named Abby. She was also found shot at Tyler Home Center Thursday night. UPDATE: Abby Tyler died Saturday morning in a Spartanburg hospital.

Cherokee County Murders Generating Anonymous Tips
The fear generated in Cherokee County over four murders by a serial killer has the phone ringing almost constantly at Crimestoppers in Columbia, which is handling all anonymous tips in the cases. It has received more than 50 calls in the last two days about the murders. WJBF News Channel 6’s SC Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, has more.

Authorities in South Carolina say they’re looking for a serial killer they believe has shot four people to death within 10 miles of each other over the past six days. Officials have now released an updated sketch of the suspect.

UPDATED: Cherokee County Sheriff Says Homicides Linked
Investigators say three homicides in Cherokee County are related. They say the suspect is dangerous, unpredictable and targets women. The Cherokee County Sheriff says he is not sure what the legal classification for a serial killer is, but three innocent people killed. They says legal have a tremendous amount of physical evidence that positively proved the homicides were committed by the same man. UPDATE: There has now been a 4th illing in Cherokee County.
