Rumors Of Augusta Lynx Disbanding Raise Concerns

Rumors circulate of the Augusta Lynx folding after reports on a Charlotte North Carolina newspaper’s website.  Although the ECHL, the league the hockey team is in, has said that these rumors are NOT true, the future for the lynx may not be so good.  WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

The ECHL announced late Wednesday afternoon that the Augusta Lynx will remain a member of the league.

Charlotte Newspaper Report About Lynx Disbanding Pulled; Hockey Officials Say “Business As Usual”

One moment it was up, the next moment it was gone.  A report on the Charlotte Observer’s website announced that its city’s hockey team would have schedule changes because a planned game against the Augusta Lynx was off.  The article reported that the Lynx were on the verge of disbanding.  That was news to the Lynx officials who told WJBF News Channel 6 that it was “business as usual.“  Meantime, the Observer’s original article has since been pulled.  Developing.
