Mayfield Recalls Possibly Contaminated Ice Cream
Mayfield Dairy Farms has announced it is recalling containers of its Mayfield Homemade Vanilla Select Ice Cream because of possible ammonia contamination. The Birmingham-based company said the voluntary recall is for 1.5-quart containers of the ice cream. Ammonia contamination can cause headache, nausea, vomiting and irritation of the throat.

NC authorities: 2 dead, 1 missing after storm
Officials say a cluster of strong thunderstorms in North Carolina produced tornadoes that killed two people, and authorities are searching for a missing child. State police spokeswoman Patty McQuillan says a woman was found dead in the wreckage of her home early Saturday in the community of Kenly, which is about 35 miles southeast of Raleigh. Authorities say the woman’s son is missing.

Ocean Isle, NC Beach House Fire Survivor Speaks About The Last Year Since The Fire
It was almost one year ago, on October 28th, when seven college students from South Carolina died in a North Carolina beach house fire. Now, friends and family members are remembering the victims, with new events to raise money for scholarships, in their honor. The first Carolina Remembrance Concert was Thursday night, in Columbia. It was to include a slide show to remember the six USC students, and one Clemson student, who died in the Ocean Isle beach fire, last year. WJBF News Channel 6’s Capitol reporter, Robert Kittle, has an exclusive interview with one of the survivors of that fire, about the last year for him, and what he wants everyone to know about the victims.

Betty Neumar Released From NC Jail
A Georgia grandmother charged in the death of one of her five dead husbands has been released from a North Carolina jail. Authorities said 76-year-old Betty Neumar posted bond Thursday at the Stanly County jail, where she was being held on a $300,000 bond.
