U.S. Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham say the Obama administration should act quickly to send additional troops to Afghanistan. The Republican lawmakers from Arizona and South Carolina made those comments Monday during a town hall meeting at The Citadel, South Carolina’s military college.

The United States and Russia say they are resuming military cooperation suspended after Russia invaded its smaller neighbor Georgia last year. The expected announcement came Monday, as President Barack Obama and Russian president Dmitry Medvedev met for their first summit in Moscow.

South Carolina’s top law enforcement agency is taking part in a weeklong academy that organizers hope will energize young people about safety. The State Law Enforcement Division will participate Tuesday in the American Legion’s Nathan M. Wolfe Cadet Academy.
