UPDATED: Woman Found Dead In Burke County

The GBI is helping to investigate the murder of a Savannah woman in Burke County.

Suspects Wanted In Robbery And High-Speed Chase In Which Officers Were Shot At

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, two suspects are wanted in connection with the Armed Robbery of the Huddle House, in Waynesboro, Georgia on Saturday night. After the robbery, the suspects were involved in a high-speed chase, in which shots were fired at several police officers. The suspects are known to be armed at this time. The suspects are identified as 20-year-old Julian Durden, III and 23-year-old William Dalzell.

Groups Object To Dredging For Plant Vogtle Expansion

The federal agency that oversees nuclear power plants says the effects of dredging on the Savannah River must be explored before permits for a proposed expansion at Plant Vogtle can be considered. In a ruling Friday, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Atomic Safety & Licensing Board agreed with environmental groups that contend dredging would have a significant impact and was not addressed in earlier studies.

Burke County Teenager Attacked By Pit Bulls

A Burke County teenager is recovering after being viciously attacked by pit bulls. According to Burke County investigators he was bitten by three dogs last week at his home. The attack took place along the 190 block of Corley Road in Hephzibah, which is in rural Burke County. Count on our Fraendy Clervaud for that story.

No Charges In Burke County Levi’s Call

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office will not officially charge Dolores Marie Miller in connection with a multi-state search for Isaiah Ezekial Tan.  You may remember that Tan’s picture was played on TV and Internet a few days ago as investigators believed the little boy was abducted.  Further investigation finds that Tan’s parent hadn’t filed for custody, so each have equal custody.  As such, the father and Tan’s grandmother, Miller, left Georgia for Tennessee.  The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATED: Missing Burke County Child Located Safe And Sound In Tennessee

The child that was reported missing from Burke County has been located in Tennessee, with his grandmother, safe and sound. Isaiah Ezekial Tan, 3, was reported abducted earlier Wednesday.

Burke County Students Face Felony Charges After Igniting Chemicals Inside High School

Three Burke County students are being questioned by investigators at this hour.  Authorities suspect they may be behind the creation of an explosive device that was taken to Burke County High School this morning.  Authorities say the device was a plastic bottle filled with Draino and some aluminum strips. A chemical reaction caused the device to explode.
