Saluda County Man Buried In His Car

Even though he reached the end of the road, a local man decided to stay in his car. Lonnie Holloway was buried in Saluda, South Carolina on Tuesday inside one of his most prized possessions: a 1973 Pontiac Catalina. Holloway, who was born in 1918, asked that his rifles and handguns also be be buried with him. He spend 32 years working for the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy Motorcade Prepares To Leave Cape Cod

The flag-draped coffin carrying the body of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has been taken from the family home on Cape Cod for the trip to Boston. The casket was loaded into a hearse in a motorcade that will follow a 70-mile route Thursday past sites of significance to Kennedy’s life. The family gathered near the house to watch.

AP Source: Senator Edward Kennedy To Be Buried At Arlington National Cemetery

A Democratic source familiar with the planning says Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is to lie in repose at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston before his funeral at a city church. Kennedy will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery near his slain brothers, another official knowledgeable about the arrangements told The Associated Press.

SC Firm Gets Contract To Expand Veterans Burial Site

The next stage of the Fort Jackson National Cemetery for veterans will be built by a South Carolina construction firm. The Department of Veterans Affairs says the contract has been awarded to LW Construction of Charleston, a firm owned by a military veteran.
