CAUGHT ON TAPE: Broad Street Gas Station Burglarized
According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report, someone threw a large rock through the front window of Bodie Shell Station, located on 13th Street, in Augusta. The burglar got away with about $1,300 worth of cigarettes and cigars.

UPDATED: Columbia County Sex Offender Arrested
Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received information that an absconded sex offender was living in downtown Augusta. Vandus Derrell Robinson, 32, was convicted in Georgia in 1996 of sexual assault. Robinson is an absconder from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. UPDATE: According to Captain Steve Morris, of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Robinson turned himself in on Friday.

A Fort Gordon soldier is in jail after a fight over the weekend. Christopher Millhouse, 21, is charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Millions More For Augusta Area Road Projects
Several road projects in Augusta and Columbia County have already been approved for funding from a part of the money Georgia received from the stimulus bill. BREAKING NEWS: Arrest Made In MCG Assault
According to Lt. Scott Peebles, on Thursday afternoon, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against 28-year-old Roger Antonio Bettis, of North Augusta, in reference to the June 3rd assault of a 63-year-old woman at MCG Hospital.

UPDATED: Suspect Hospitalized After Crashing Stolen Car Into Budget Inn, Causing Fire
Richmond County Firefighters responded to a fire near the Budget Inn, located on 441 Broad Street, around 10:00 p.m., Sunday night. Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the fire was caused when a suspect crashed a stolen car into the building.
