Jurors are set to begin deliberating the fate of courthouse gunman Brian Nichols, who faces the death penalty for a deadly shooting spree that left four dead.

The judge in the Brian Nichols Atlanta Courthouse murder trial has removed a juror from the case. This comes after other jurors said she talked about the jailhouse beating of a prosecution witness. That witness was Nichols’ cellmate who testified on Tuesday.

It’s the most expensive murder trial in Georgia history, already costing state taxpayers millions. Now, the man accused of the fatal Atlanta courthouse shooting spree may have suffered a setback in his claim that he was insane at the time. Joyce Oscar has highlights from Friday’s testimony.
