According to Sgt. Dave Myers, On October 10th, Richard Brown, wanted for Armed Robbery in Aiken County, was detained by Daytona Beach, Florida authorities for unrelated charges. Richard Brown, 29, of Hard Street, in Graniteville, SC is charged with Armed Robbery, and Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.

It’s another chance for people living in Graniteville to have their voices heard on those new water rates. The South Carolina Public Service Commission is holding a public meeting on the rates. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m.

According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office holds warrants for the arrest of an Aiken County man, who committed an armed robbery, and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature at a Graniteville, S.C. business, earlier this month. According to Capt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Greg’s Gas Plus convenience store, located at 106 Bettis Academy Road, in Graniteville, for an armed robbery. The clerk stated that two individuals came inside, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded money from the register.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning fire, in which there was moderate damage, to the “Genco” warehouse, a subcontractor of Kimberly Clark, at 1043 Global Ave., Graniteville, South Carolina.

According to Lt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man accused of shooting an individual in the leg outside of 622 Crestlyn Drive, in North Augusta, SC on January 8th. The suspect is identified as Allen Michael Johnson, 19, of the 1300 block of Bettis Academy Road, in Trenton, SC.
