Pennsylvania Woman Killed By Pet Bear Caged Near Her Home

Authorities in northeastern Pennsylvania say a woman was killed by her pet black bear as she cleaned its cage. State police say 37-year-old Kelly Ann Walz was mauled to death Sunday evening by the 350-pound bear.

Beary Interesting: Stuffed Bear Arrives In Cobb County

The stuffed body of a black bear killed by a car in summer 2008 along a busy road in the north Atlanta suburb has arrived from the taxidermist this month. The bear will soon go to the county’s Cato Environmental Education Center in Austell, but for now it’s greeting visitors to the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs office.

Bear Sighting Reported In Columbia County, Turns Out To Be Dog

According to Columbia County EMA Director Pam Tucker, a bear report was received Thursday morning from a Columbia county resident saying two bear cubs were seen on the playground at Blue Ridge Commons, around 2:00 a.m.

A black bear has been spotted by several neighbors in Columbia County. WJBF News Channel 6’s Paige Tucker caught up with the family whose backyard was the bear’s playground for a while, Monday morning.

Black Bear Spotted In Columbia County

According to Columbia County EMA Director Pam Tucker, a Columbia County employee had an unusual experience coming into work, Thursday morning. As the employee drove down Baker Place Road from Wrightsboro Road, she spotted a black bear in a big field in the area just before I-20 crosses Baker Place Road.
