The USC-Aiken community continued to mourn the loss of basketball player Javonte Clanton, on Friday. Pacers coach Vince alexander spoke to the media for the first time since the tragedy. WJBF News Channel 6’s John Hart has more.

A warning for drivers…one that we sometimes take for granted. Tuesday, we learned the devastating news that USC-Aiken basketball star, Javonte Clanton, had been killed in a car accident…an accident that may have been prevented, had he not been tired. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

The USC- Aiken community is mourning the lost of one of their own. Men’s basketball player Javonte Clanton was killed in a car accident. Clanton got on the road right after the USC-A Pacers lost to Augusta State in the NCAA Division II tournament, Tuesday night.  He was on his way home to Ohio. According to USC-Aiken’s Athletic Director, Randy Warrick, a USC-Aiken basketball player was killed in a car accident Thursday morning. The player has been identified as Javonte Clanton. USC-Aiken played Augusta State Tuesday night in a NCAA Division II Southeastern regional tournament championship game. The accident happened in West Virginia. He left after Tuesday night’s game to drive to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. He reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
