According to a release from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Andrae Odell Rice, 32, the former head football coach at Denmark-Olar High School has been arrested on charges stemming from alleged Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child.

Man To Pay $250,000 For Importing Deer For Use At Bamberg County Hunting Reserve

A Charleston man has agreed to pay $250,000 in fines and penalties for his role in bringing 54 white-tailed deer from other states to be used at his Bamberg County hunting service.

SC jobless rate hits 25-year high at 8 percent

South Carolina’s jobless rate hit 8 percent in October - the highest in 25 years.  The state Employment Security Commission said Friday that 16,000 people joined the ranks of the unemployed in October. That’s a big increase from the September jobless rate of 7.3 percent. The head of the Employment Commission says the state added 4100 jobs, but the number of people filing for unemployment exceeded that.
