Authorities in Aiken County, two Aiken County men are in custody, after investigators say they tried to ram another vehicle off the road. the men are identified as William Henry Dyches, 41, and Scotty Michael Dyches, 37, who are brothers.

Two Seneca High School Football Players Charged With Assaulting Teammate

Two Seneca High School football players have been charged with simple assault and battery for a reported locker room incident with a teammate. Seneca Police say that Devin Gaines, 17, and Austin Hunter, 18, were both released on a personal recognizance bond of $1,092.50.

GA Measure Would Require Checks On More Workers

A Georgia Republican is pushing a measure that would require employers to perform background checks on staffers who work inside other people’s homes. The measure sponsored by state Rep. Allen Peake of Macon would also ban some criminals from jobs that would send them into homes.

A South Carolina town councilman has been arrested on an assault charge after a confrontation with another council member. ‘The State’ newspaper reported that Batesburg-Leesville Councilman Steve Cain was arrested Wednesday and charged with simple assault after a run-in with Councilman Todd O’Dell after Monday’s council meeting.

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, on Thursday afternoon, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against 28-year-old Roger Antonio Bettis, of North Augusta, in reference to the June 3rd assault of a 63-year-old woman at MCG Hospital.

Wednesday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) announced that they are offering a $2,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest of the man responsible for the June 3rd assault on the female victim at MCG Hospital. The assault occurred in the fourth floor women’s restroom.

Craigslist Killing Suspect Charged With Assault In Rhode Island Case

A medical student accused in Boston of killing a masseuse he met on Craigslist has been charged in Rhode Island with assaulting a stripper in a hotel. Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch announced the arrest warrant Monday for Philip Markoff on assault and weapons counts.

According to SLED spokesperson Jennifer Timmons, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is charging an Aiken County Detention Center inmate with the death of a fellow inmate. Andrew Nathan York, 37, of the 300 block of Outing Club Road, in Aiken, SC is accused of Murder.

UPDATED: Aiken Kidnapping Suspect Sought

According to Lt. David Turno, the Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating a kidnapping that occurred on Monday, April 13th. The incident took place on the 100 block of Laurens Street, in downtown Aiken, around 9:15 p.m. According to Lt. Turno, a woman was forced into her car, then she was driven to an unknown location and sexually assaulted.

Columbia County Woman Dies After Being Attacked During Home Burglary

A Columbia County woman, beaten in her home, has died. Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Laverne Parsons was beaten Wednesday after she walked in on a burglary in her home. She died Thursday at the Medical College of Georgia. Her death is the first murder in Columbia County, this year. WJBF News Channel 6’s Renita Crawford has more.
