SC Man Charged With Animal Cruelty To 7 Horses
A South Carolina man has been charged with cruelty to animals after authorities seized six horses and a pony from his home. Jail officials said Thursday that 54-year-old Glenn Chestnut has been released on $800 bond. The Morning News of Florence reports that Chestnut was arrested Tuesday, nearly a week after authorities took the horses.

Nebraska Deputies Say Man Stuffed Cat Inside ‘Bong’
A man who tried to mellow out his cat by stuffing her into a homemade bong is facing criminal charges, and catcalls from animal lovers. Lincoln-area authorities cited 20-year-old Acea Schomaker on suspicion of animal cruelty Sunday after catching him smoking marijuana from a contraption that had a cat stuffed inside its 12-inch by 6-inch base.

Store Owner Speaks Out On Animal Cruelty Allegations
A local pet store facing some pretty tough charges. Loo’s Cuddly Critters owner, Rebecca Loo, has been cited for multiple counts of animal cruelty. Loo’s accused of not taking proper care of the more than 60 puppies she keeps in her store. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

More Allegations Against PetSmart Groomer
According to animal control investigators, Justin Monbarren, a groomer at PetSmart, has been charged with one count of animal cruelty. Officers say, based on witness statements, he intentionally strangled a 5-pound Pomeranian. Thursday, another pet owner came forward; saying what happened to her dog, with the same groomer, is very similar. A case of animal cruelty is under investigation in Murray County. Sheriff Howard Ensley said three men are in custody allegedly for killing, dismembering and eating a dog.

Horses Neglected In Saluda County
There are more complaints of animal neglect in Saluda County. Several people say horses on some property in the county are being starved to death. The Saluda County Sheriff’s Office has responded to complaints that the horses would die, if nothing was done…that was back in the spring.
