Baseball Hall Of Famer George Kell Dies At 86
Hall of Fame third baseman and longtime broadcaster George Kell has died at 86. A funeral home in Newport, Ark. said he died Tuesday. Kell was severely injured in a car crash in 2004 but was able to walk with a cane about six months later.

Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia Wins AL MVP Award
A year after being named American League rookie of the year, Boston’s Dustin Pedroia is the winner of the American League Most Valuable Player award. The Red Sox infielder got 16 of the 28 first-place votes from the baseball writers and easily beat out Minnesota slugger Justin Morneau.

Cleveland Lefty Cliff Lee Wins AL Cy Young Award
Cliff Lee is a runaway winner for the American League Cy Young Award, capping a dominant comeback season that made him the second consecutive Cleveland Indians lefty to earn the honor.

ALCS: Tampa Bay Rays 3, Boston Red Sox 1 (Tampa Bay Rays Win Series 4-3)
The Tampa Bay Rays are going to the World Series for the first time in their 11-year history. The Rays rode a clutch pitching effort by Matt Garza in a 3-1 win over Boston that earned them the American League pennant. The Rays won the ALCS in seven games after holding a 3-1 lead before Boston made it interesting.
