That giant generator that’s slowly moving through South Carolina is actually still not moving. A spokesperson for the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says it will stay put until at least October 10th, while the company works to get a permit to haul the big load.

Corpse-Shortening SC Funeral Home Open For Now

A judge says a South Carolina funeral home where a corpse’s legs were cut so it would fit in a casket can remain open as it appeals the revocation of its license. The order issued Tuesday says funeral director Michael Cave and Cave Funeral Home in Allendale could suffer irreparable harm if they have to stay closed until the state Administrative Law Court can hear an appeal next month.

The owner of a troubled Allendale funeral home is speaking out after losing his business license. The South Carolina Funeral Service Board says someone at the funeral home severed the legs of a 6-foot-7 man so his body would fit into his casket. SC Revokes Funeral Licenses For Dismembering Tall Body

The South Carolina funeral board has revoked the licenses of the funeral director and funeral home which handled a 6-foot-7 man whose legs apparently were cut to fit in his casket. A state licensing spokesman said the Board of Funeral Service voted Monday to revoke the funeral directors’ license of Michael Cave and the license of Cave Funeral Services of Allendale.

SC Unemployment Reaches Record-Tying 11.4 Percent

South Carolina’s unemployment rate hit 11.4 percent in March, tying the highest rate ever in the state. The Employment Security Commission said Friday the rate was up from the revised 10.9 percent rate in February. National unemployment was 8.5 percent in March.
