Aiken Regional Medical Centers Promotes Heart Awareness Month
February is Heart Awareness Month…and people at Aiken Regional Medical Centers did their part to promote awareness, by opening their state-of-the-art heart center to the public, Wednesday. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has more in the Medical Report.
Body Found In Windsor, SC Identified
According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, the body discovered in Windsor, SC on Tuesday has been positively identified as Marquez James Tyler, 19, of Salley, SC.

City of Aiken Votes No For University Hospital

FOLLOW UP: Young Woman Dying Of Cancer Gets Her Christmas Wish
An update to a story we brought you several weeks ago. 23-year-old Karen Flores was diagnosed with cancer, a month ago, and it has since spread throughout her body. During that time, her parents have been fighting for a visa to come to the states from Honduras, but were denied twice because they couldn’t tell immigration when they would return. Well, things have changed. And, on Christmas day, Karen got the best gift she could have ever asked for. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

Public Safety and Industry to Conduct Readiness Exercise In Aiken County
According to Lt. Michael Frank, with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, public safety agencies from across Aiken County, in conjunction with Langley-based CYTEC Industries, will participate in an exercise designed to evaluate the emergency response to a simulated chemical release, resulting in fire and injuries.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers’ Cancer Institute held its 13th annual Cancer Survivor Day picnic. The group took time to thank their families and friends for their support. There are more than 10 million people cancer survivors in this country. Friday, a few gathered to share their stories with each other.
