UPDATED: Second Suspect Arrested In Aiken Murder
Officers in Aiken are trying to solve their first murder case in nearly two years. Tuesday night, a man was shot to death near downtown Aiken. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the details. UPDATE: According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, the Aiken Department of Public Safety has arrested 20-year-old Freddie L. Simpkins for the murder of Donald McCalla. UPDATE: According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, a third suspect, Jeremy Holloway is still wanted in the murder. UPDATE: Jeremy Holloway turned himself into the Aiken Department of Public Safety around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Aiken Kangaroo Express Robbery Suspect Sought
According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) is looking for a suspect in a Tuesday morning robbery in Aiken. Sgt. Dowdy says, Tuesday morning, at about 05:45 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Express at the intersection of Richland Avenue West at University Parkway (3540 Richland Avenue West).

“Limping Bandit” Arrested Near Charleston
According to Lt. David Turno, with the Aiken Department of Public Safety, a suspect in a 2007 Aiken bank robbery has been arrested near Charleston. He was known as the “Limping Bandit” to the FBI, and is suspected in over 20 bank robberies across the Southeast.

Aiken Public Safety Has Some New Crimefighting Tools

Two Suspects Arrested In North Augusta Kangaroo Express Armed Robbery
According to the the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), in coordination with the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS), ACSO arrested a North Augusta man and a juvenile early Saturday morning concerning the armed robbery that occurred at 349 Edgefield Road, in North Augusta, South Carolina on June 26, 2009.

Arrest Made In Downtown Aiken Kidnapping Case
According to Lt. David Turno, the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) has made an arrest in a downtown kidnapping case from last week. ADPS Investigators have arrested Mrs. Rikki Lynn Halavonich, 34, of Charleston, SC and have charged her with Filing A False Police Report (Felony).

Aiken Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Pursuit
According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS), Monday morning at around 2:48 a.m., the Econo Lodge located at 3560 Richland Avenue West was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect vehicle, a red Jeep Cherokee, was spotted by Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies. A vehicle pursuit ensued into several neighboring jurisdictions. The pursuit ended when the suspect abandoned his vehicle on York Street north, near Crosland Park playground area. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

Aiken Investigators Working On Thousands Of Outstanding Warrants
The Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) is looking for about 2,000 people who have outstanding warrants in the city of Aiken, and officers are giving those people a chance to turn themselves in, this week. A judge will hold bench warrant hearings all day, this Friday.

Aiken Investigators Search For Purse Snatching Suspects
According to Lt. David Turno, Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) investigators are searching for three suspects in a purse snatching. A surveillance image shows three suspects from a purse snatching that occurred at Wal-Mart, on Richland Avenue, on March 7th, at around 9:30 p.m.
