The Trouble With Edgefield’s Trestle
A deadly accident this week in Edgefield has city leaders taking up the challenge to do something about a low bridge. Although signs warn truck drivers to go around the 13-foot bridge, Edgefield leaders say it’s obvious, with the number of accidents they have, the signs are either missed, or ignored. UPDATED: Aiken County Accident Claims One Life
According to Aiken County Corner Tim Carlton, an Aiken County traffic accident has claimed the life of one person. The accident happened near Mt. Beulah Road and Old Barnwell Road, in Aiken County. The victim has now been identified as 52-year-old Joseph D. Randall, of Williston, SC.

An Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office deputy is injured after a head-on collision. ‘The Edgefield Daily’ reports that Deputy Angela Cloyd lost control of her patrol car while she was in route to a call, on Monday.

Warrenville Woman Sentenced In 2008 Accident
A Warrenville, South Carolina woman accused of a fatal hit and run had her day in court, Wednesday afternoon. Our news partner, ‘The Aiken Standard’ reports, Ginger Carpenter pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident in which a death occurred.

GA Bus Driver Charged In Fatal School Accident
The driver of a school bus that struck and killed a 5-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon now faces second degree homicide by vehicle charges. Atlanta Police Wednesday announced 39-year-old Sharon Denise Dale also is charged with failure to use due regard and school bus driver safety procedure.

UPDATED: Fiery Crash Destroys Popular Glascock County Barn
One person is dead, and a landmark for Glascock County destroyed, after an alleged car chase. We’re told the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the fiery crash that happened Saturday night, in Glascock County. A viewer sent pictures in to our newsroom from the scene. They tell us about 10 fire trucks responded. We’re told the chase started following a traffic stop in Wrens.

Police Say Other Driver At Fault In Michael Phelps Crash
Baltimore police say the other driver was at fault in a crash involving Olympic champion Michael Phelps. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the female driver ran a red light in her Honda Accord sedan and crashed in an intersection with Phelps’ Cadillac Escalade SUV.

Baby Killed, SC Mom Charged After Teen Crashes Car
A South Carolina mother is facing charges after her 14-year-old daughter crashed a car, killing a small child in the back seat. The Item of Sumter reports Friday that 30-year-old Nicole Ford has been charged with seven counts of unlawful conduct toward a child for letting the teen drive.

UPDATED: Three Vehicle Accident Kills Two In North Augusta
A Sunday morning accident claims two lives. It happened along Highway 1, near the Hippodrome in North Augusta, just after 9 a.m. Investigators believe the driver of a Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong lane, heading north in the southbound lane. It’s believed that the driver, 58-year-old Anthony Williams, struck his car against a pickup truck and then a van. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
