FFN: Richmond Academy Musketeers Expect To Contend For Region Crown In 2009
In years past, teams looked at Richmond Academy and could usually put an automatic “W” on their schedule…can’t do that anymore. Muskeeters Head Coach Chris Hughes has turned the Musketeers program around…going from zero wins in ‘07…to 6 wins and a playoff berth in ‘08. And, there is no reason to believe ARC can’t contend for the Region 3-AAAA crown this season…in fact, the Musketeers expect it. WJBF News Channel 6 Sports Director Chris Kane has more.

A local high school senior is getting some help with her career plans after winning a cooking competition this weekend, in Atlanta. As WJBF News channel 6’s Paige Tucker reports, Ta’quna Daniel whipped up a favorite pasta dish and some vegetables…and brought home the prize.

Richmond County School Rezoning Plan Approved
At a Richmond County Board of Education meeting, Tuesday night, plans were approved to rezone some Richmond County high school and middle school students.
Vote Scheduled Tuesday Night On Richmond County School Reightsizing
Richmond County School Board members are scheduled to vote on revamping its schools, in the wake of an unstable economy. For the past few months, board members and Superintendent Doctor Bedden have been meeting about rightsizing. Under the plan, some schools would consolidate, and others would close. And, as the board prepares to make a decision, the rightsizing agenda is not sitting well with some parents and teachers. A vote on the plan was expected Tuesday night, but Dr. Bedden is now saying he’s not sure whether that vote will happen, Tuesday night. WJBF News Channel 6’s Fraendy Clervaud has more.
