COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Democrats are knocking on doors around the state this weekend. The party set up 17 gathering spots around the state for an election turnout drive for the party’s candidates on Saturday. Republicans and Democrats are gearing up turnout efforts. Both parties are setting up operations around the state to distribute campaign materials. Registration closes for the Nov. 4 election on Oct. 4.
