Georgia Voters Also Decide Public Service Commission, Appeals Court Races
The U.S. Senate race may have grabbed much of the headlines, but voters also quietly decided contests to fill open seats on the Court of Appeals and the Public Service Commission.

ATLANTA (AP) - The U.S. Senate race may have grabbed much of the headlines, but voters also quietly decided contests to fill open seats on the Court of Appeals and the Public Service Commission.
They chose Republican Lauren “Bubba” McDonald to fill the open seat on the Public Service Commission. With 86 percent of the precincts reporting statewide, McDonald has 58 percent of the vote to Democrat Jim Powell’s 42 percent.
The Court of Appeals race is still very close. Sara Doyle has around 52 percent of the vote, and Mike Sheffield earned about 48 percent.
