SUMTER, S.C. (AP) - A woman and her 11-month-old baby have been killed and three people have been taken to a hospital with injuries after a two-car crash in South Carolina.

The Item of Sumter reported Friday that the woman and infant were pronounced dead at a Hartsville hospital Thursday night. Deputy Coroner Larry Logan did not release the victims’ names, but said they were in a car with two other people.

Authorities say the wreck happened about 7 p.m. Thursday at an intersection in Lucknow in Lee County.

Three other people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Their names were not immediately released.
