Woman Dies In Highway 421 Accident In Aiken County
According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a 75-year-old North Augusta woman has died in an accident on Highway 421, in Aiken County. Daisy May Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car collision on Highway 421. Ingram was the unrestrained front seat passenger in a 2000 GMC Jimmy SUV driven by her granddaughter, Daphne Ingram, also of North Augusta.
Aiken, SC—According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, a 75-year-old North Augusta woman has died in an accident on Highway 421, in Aiken County.
Daisy May Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car collision on Highway 421. Ingram was the unrestrained front seat passenger in a 2000 GMC Jimmy SUV driven by her granddaughter, Daphne Ingram, also of North Augusta.
Daphne Ingram was attempting to make a left turn onto Old Aiken Road, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2000 Toyota Camry driven by 45-year-old Robert Simmons, also of North Augusta.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the South Carolian Highway Patrol. Another passenger in the rear of the GMC Jimmy was taken to MCG in Augusta, with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were also transported to MCG with non-life threatening injuries.
Daisy Mae Ingram died from multiple body trauma.
She is the 21st traffic fatality in Aiken County this year.
