Burnettown, SC—Aiken County voters will decide a couple of races tomorrow. Voters in North Augusta will pick a new county councilman for District 5. Another race getting some attention is the Mayor’s race in Burnettown.
Incumbent Mayor C. H. Williams is running against Councilman Chuck Mason.
Mason says he is running on a platform of not raising taxes.
Mayor Williams says there hasn’t been a tax increase proposal while he’s been mayor.
Chuck Mason, Running for Mayor: “Some people asked me to run, so the part that really fascinates me, besides being against taxes, there’s no industry, no plan for growth, no anything down there.“
Mayor C.H. Williams, Seeking Re-election: “We need to all grow, we need to work together, and that means coming down to the town meetings, and voices being heard, not the council being heard, but the voices of the people being heard.“
The only polling place for that race is at the Burnettown City Hall.
