UPDATED: Suspicious Item Detonated After Bomb Threat At Midland Valley High School
WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that there has been a bomb threat at Midland Valley High School, Monday afternoon, according to Sgt. Dave Myers, with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
***5:15 p.m. Update October 19***
Accordingto Sgt. Dave Myers, a suspicious item was detonated after authorities were called in for a bomb threat at the school, on Monday. Authorities don’t know exactly what the item consisted of, but they have gathered all of the pieces, in order to move forward in the investigation.
Students were let back into the school around 4:20 p.m. to gether their belongings. No one was hurt in the incident.

***4:10 p.m. Update October 19***
According to Sgt. Myers, a student went to the bathroom, and saw a message about a bomb being in the school, with Monday’s date. The student notified school officials, who notified law enforcement.
A preliminary search turned up a suspicious water bottle with a skull and crossbones on it.
Various law enforcement agencies are on scene, including SLED, the Burnettown Police Department, and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Students were evacuated, and a robot is going into the building at this time to investigate the situation.
