Columbia, SC—South Carolina schools will have to wait longer to get those h1n1 (swine) flu vaccines.

Aiken County School District leaders say they are planning to allow the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to set up clinics in each of their schools and offer the vaccine to students, but DHEC hasn’t received those vaccines.

Officials in Columbia tell us the CDC’s shortage is trickling down, and they have no idea when they will get a shipment of the vaccines in to pass along to schools.

Officials suggest parents take children to their physicians and try to receive the vaccine there.
