WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police say a South Carolina woman accused of neglecting her 555-pound son’s health has been released from the hospital and transferred to the county jail.

Police had taken her to the hospital after her arrest because she showed signs of wanting to hurt herself.

County police spokesman Bill Toohey says 49-year-old Jerri Gray was found with her son, 14-year-old Alexander Draper, at the Sudsville laundry in Woodlawn on Thursday. He says she was charged on the South Carolina warrant for violating a custody order and she is being held at the county detention center.

A video extradition hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. Gray told police she won’t fight the extradition.
