Northern SC County Sees 4th Killing In 6 Days
GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say the shooting death of a man inside a Gaffney furniture and appliance store is the fourth killing in Cherokee County in the past six days.
Multiple media outlets report that a man was killed and a woman wounded Thursday evening at Tyler Home Center.
Investigators don’t know if the most recent killing is related to three other fatal shootings within 10 miles of each other in the past six days.
Sheriff Bill Blanton said 83-year-old Hazel Keaton Linder and her 50-year-old daughter, Gena Linder Parker, were bound and killed Wednesday by the same person who shot 63-year-old Kline Cash last Saturday.
Investigators have a sketch of the suspect and think he is driving a blue van.
The county of 54,000 people had six homicides in 2008.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office found two victims dead inside a house on 114 Buck Shoals Road at Highway 11, between Chesnee and Gaffney.
A mother and daughter were found bound and shot at a home just after 3 pm Wednesday.
Coroner Dennis Fowler confirms the victims are 83 year old Hazel Linder and 50 year old Gena Linder Parker.
Anderson County School District 5 Superintendent Betty Bagley confirms to WSPA-TV News Channel 7 that Gena Linder Parker was a teacher at Calhoun Academy of Arts, and her mother.
Parker’s husband, Scott, is the former head football coach at North Greenville College and T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson and currently is an assistant principal at Ninety-Six High School and an assistant football coach at Newberry College.
A sign with “Hay For Sale” was displayed outside the residence, just a few miles away from where a similar murder occured Saturday. Local farmer, Kline Cash, was found dead at his home after a man wanting to buy some hay came to his house earlier in the day.
