Bridge Construction Will Cause Lane Closures On Interstate 20
In an e-mail to WJBF News Channel 6, Team United, the contractor constructing phase 2 of the Palmetto Parkway (I-520) in North Augusta, is proceeding with the replacement of U.S. Highway 25 bridge over I-20 at exit 5. The contractor will be setting the new beams across westbound I-20 the week of June 8th. This work will be done at night and will require closing a section of I-20.

The contractor will be setting the new beams across westbound I-20 the week of June 8th. This work will be done at night and will require closing a section of I-20.
Beginning June 8th, the section of westbound I-20 that crosses under U.S. Highway 25 will be closed between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The westbound traffic of Interstate 20 will be detoured around this section of I-20 utilizing the ramps at exit 5. This work will also require a lane closure for northbound U.S. Highway 25. This activity is scheduled to occur Monday and Tuesday night June 8th and 9th.
