MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - The body of a South Carolina author whose books profiled some of the state’s most infamous murders has been found in a river.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported Sunday that the body of 56-year-old Dale Hudson was found by two fishermen Saturday around 8:30 p.m. in the Pee Dee River two miles south of the U.S. 76 bridge. Hudson had been reported missing on Friday.
Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson said foul play has been ruled out in Hudson’s death.
Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler said Hudson last spoke to his wife Wednesday morning. She said Hudson was leaving for a business trip, but called her to say he was getting a migraine headache and was going to rest. She didn’t hear from him again.
Among Hudson’s books is “Dance of Death.“
