There’s some good economic news for the South Carolina coast as Scientific Research Corp. of Atlanta is expanding in North Charleston, adding 300 jobs.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - There’s some good economic news for the South Carolina coast as Scientific Research Corp. of Atlanta is expanding in North Charleston, adding 300 jobs.

Gov. Mark Sanford was on hand Tuesday as company officials made the announcement.

The engineering company’s clients include the federal government and private firms worldwide. It plans to invest $4 million during the next five years.

The company is based in Atlanta and has engineering offices across the country, including the North Charleston facility.
