Aiken, SC—There are three new ways to help save lives in Aiken County…
These new ambulances rolled into Aiken EMS, paid for with the county’s one cent sales tax.
They will replace trucks that have been on the road for years, and have more than 300,000 miles on them.
The new trucks are state-of-the-art, and are designed to be better lifesavers.
Greg Bailey, senior shift supervisor, Aiken EMS: “They’re a lot more reliable, we went with a new type, more reliable, more servicable, shouldn’t have to have the problems we used to have, we’ve researched that real hard, and the servicability and the reliability of our trucks is paramount, cause if it’s not running, we don’t get to you fast.“
The county now has 14 trucks of its own, and recently began a partnership with other private ambulance companies, all in an effort to get to the citizens of Aiken County faster.
