Aiken, SC—Aiken County Council will take a final vote on the “blue laws” Tuesday night.

For years, the county has upheld the law that prevents stores from selling certain items, like clothes and housewares, from being sold before 1:30 p.m., on Sundays.

If the “blue laws” were done away with, stores in Aiken and North Augusta could open at their own discretion on Sundays.

The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday night at the Aiken County Council Chambers, on Richland Avenue.
