Augusta, GA — WJBF News Channel 6 returned to Augusta this weekend with a 2009 Southeastern Emmy Award.
WJBF News Channel 6 attended the 35th Southeastern Emmy Awards at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta, GA for their creative MascotVote.com campaign. The project won the Television Advanced Media Excellence-Advanced Media Interactivity category.
The campaign kicked off in August of 2008 for the High School football season and included a website, MascotVote.com, five promotion spots that aired throughout the football season, and attendance at local high school football games. Throughout the football season viewers were encouraged to visit the MascotVote.com website and vote for their favorite high school mascot. The 2008 winner, Evans High School’s Evan the intimidator, will be presented a new mascot uniform at the beginning of the 2009 football season.
The representatives for WJBF included General Manager, Billy Stewart; Station Brand Manager, Robert Pippin; Director of Results, Roberto Vasquez; Marketing Representatives, Brittni Everhardt and James Dean; Account Executive, Trish Thornhill; and John Holden from Production.
MascotVote.com will roll around again, this fall, as CSRA high school football kicks off. We hope to make it even bigger and better.
