UPDATED: Weather Advisories Issued For CSRA Counties
The National Weather Service has issued several weather advisories ahead of storm systems making their way toward the CSRA.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for the following CSRA counties until 8:00 p.m.:
south central Glascock County
west central Jefferson County
central Washington County
At 226 p.m. EDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado 13 miles southwest of Edgehill…moving northeast at 25 mph.
Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Downs, Grange, and Stapletons Crossroads.
Precautionary/preparedness actions:
When a Tornado Warning is issued based on Doppler radar…it means that strong rotation has been detected in the storm. A tornado may already be on the ground…or is expected to develop shortly. If you are in the path of this dangerous storm…move indoors and to a basement or interior room on the ground floor. Stay away from windows. If driving…do not seek shelter under a highway overpass.
If you are in a mobile home or vehicle…evacuate them and get inside a sturdy shelter. If no shelter is available…lie flat in the nearest ditch or other low spot and cover your head with your hands.
If you see wind damage…large hail or significant flooding…wait until after the storm has passed…and then call the National Weather Service toll free at 1-866-763-4466.
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the following counties until 3:30 p.m.:
Georgia:
Burke County
Columbia County
Jenkins County
Lincoln County
Mcduffie County
Richmond County
Screven County
SOUTH CAROLINA:
Aiken County
Bamberg County
Barnwell County
Calhoun County
Clarendon County
Edgefield County
Kershaw County
Lee County
Lexington County
Mccormick County
Orangeburg County
Richland County
Saluda County
Sumter County
At 2:50 p.m. edt…National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail…and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Birdsville…moving northeast at 35 mph.
