Temporary Road Closures Announced For Columbia County

Columbia County, GA—We have a couple of upcoming temporary road closures to tell you about in Columbia County.

Temporary Road Closure of the east end of Old Evans Road, at the Railroad Crossing in Martinez

Columbia County, in cooperation with CSX Railroad and Benchmark Consulting Inc., wishes to inform the driving public of a temporary road closure for all thru traffic on Old Evans Road at the railroad crossing on the east end of Old Evans Road (Martinez).  The road closure will prevent any thru traffic from using Old Evans Road between Washington Road and Old Petersburg Road.  The road closure will begin on Monday morning, November 9, 2009 and Old Evans Road will remain closed/impassable to all traffic at the railroad crossing until Saturday afternoon, November 14, 2009.

The temporary road closure is to allow for CSX Railroad to perform maintenance (railroad tie replacement project) along the railway at or in the vicinity of the railroad crossing.  Thru traffic will need to follow the designated detour route using Washington Road, Baston Road and Old Petersburg Road.

Please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting on these days.

Temporary Road Closure of Pleasant Home Road at the Railroad Crossing

Columbia County, in cooperation with CSX Railroad and Benchmark Consulting, Inc., wishes to inform the driving public of a temporary road closure for all thru traffic on Pleasant Home Road, in Martinez.  During this closure, no traffic will be able to access Pleasant Home Road between River Watch Parkway and Washington Road.  The road closure will begin Sunday morning, November 8, 2009 and will remain closed/impassable to all traffic until Friday afternoon, November 13, 2009.

The temporary road closure is to allow for CSX Railroad to perform maintenance (railroad tie replacement project) along the railway at or in the vicinity of the crossing. Thru traffic will need to follow the detour route using Washington Road, Baston Road, Old Petersburg Road and River Watch Parkway.
