If you saw a lot of activity on the Savannah River today, it was for a good reason: Dozens of high school and middle school students from across the C.S.R.A. are participating in a week-long rowing camp.  In addition to providing a healthy activity for these kids, it’s also helping broaden their horizons, according to David Young, president of the Augusta Rowing Club:
“What we’re trying to do is increase awareness of a sport kids wouldn’t normally be exposed to.  They know about soccer, baseball, things like that, but rowing is an activity they can build on for life. We have rowers into their 90s”.

Young says they also hope to use this camp to develop rowers for future spots on the rowing club’s competitive team.
