Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Suspended

A Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been suspended. Sheriff Ronnie Strength tells WJBF News Channel 6 the deputy is accused of taking money from a suspect in exchange for not charging that suspect with illegal gun possession.

Augusta, GA—A Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been suspended.

Sheriff Ronnie Strength tells WJBF News Channel 6 the deputy is accused of taking money from a suspect in exchange for not charging that suspect with illegal gun possession.

There is very little other information available about this insident, and the Sheriff says Internal Affairs is still conducting interviews.

So far, no arrests have been made.
