Augusta, GA—Shot on her way into work as a nurse, Tuesday, Lisa’s family says she is lucky to be alive. “They had to go in and remove a bullet. Doctors said it was a millimeter from her heart, so they had to crack her ribs and open up her whole chest,“ says David Lyell, the victim’s brother.

Lyell says he’ll be able to help his sister recover, because he was the victim of an armed robbery himself three years ago.

“I can definitely identify with it, and I’m definitely suggesting to my sister to go ahead and do some of this psychiatric help, this stuff doesn’t go away. It changes you as a person,“ says Lyell.

Investigators say the guy on this surveillance video is 19-year old Nicholas Tennyson. The cameras at CVS on 15th Street caught him on tape after detectives say he robbed someone at Kroger then tried to rob the nurse and ended up shooting her outside Select Specialty Hospital on Walton Way.

Someone recognized Tennyson in the video and called police overnight. “We went to the suspect’s house and obviously when we found him there, he was wearing the same shirt that was on the video that we broadcast earlier. Upon taking him into custody, we found the wallet from the other victim,“ says Lt. Scott Peebles, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Tennyson is charged with a list of offenses, including aggravated assault and armed robbery. The Sheriff’s Office says television viewers made a difference in this case.

Lt. Peebles: “Obviously the media coverage is what led to the leads that led to the arrest. In this case, with the video being put on the air, and the individual seeing that, recognized this guy, definitely led to a quick arrest, so we definitely have to give credit where credit is due.“

The family has had to deal with a great amount of strife this week. In addition to the shooting, The victims in a deadly crash in Aiken County, earlier this week, were her cousins.
