Grovetown Mobile Home Fire Claims A Life

An early morning fire in Columbia County, Georgia has claimed a life. A spokeswoman for the Martinez Columbia Fire Rescue says the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Grovetown, GA—Fire investigators are looking for clues into what sparked a deadly mobile home fire in Columbia County, Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out on the 600 block of Al Dempsey Road near the intersection with Jamie Drive.

Martinez Columbia Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene shortly before 6:30 a.m., Wednesday morning.

A fire department spokeswoman says one person died in the blaze. The name of the victim has not been released.

The indentity of the victim has not been released.
