Augusta, GA—Motorcyclists hit the streets of Augusta Saturday, collecting toys for children with cancer.
More than 40 bikers stopped at different stores to pick up the toys. Once they finished, they headed downtown to MCG’s Cancer Center for Kids, where each child got to pick out which toy they wanted.
This is the event’s second year. It was started as a way to cheer up the kids during the holidays, especially those who will be spending it in the hospital.
Casey Campbell, toy run organizer: “You can’t put a, you can’t put a price on it, you can’t put words into. I mean, to be able to give back to some of these kids that deserve so much after going through so much, and to have all of these people with the love, and the heart coming through, it’s awesome.“
The toy run has more than tripled in size. Last year, they had fewer than 10 bikers.
