ATLANTA (AP) - An attorney representing victims of the salmonella outbreak is set to tour the Peanut Corp. of America processing plant in southwest Georgia today linked to the nationwide salmonella outbreak.
Attorney Bill Marler is scheduled to visit the Peanut Corp. plant in Blakely, Thursday, with a team of experts. The plant was at the heart of the salmonella outbreak that sickened hundreds and was linked to the deaths of at least nine people.
Marler is one of several plaintiff’s lawyers who have filed lawsuits against the company, which has filed for bankruptcy.
He toured a Peanut Corp. plant in Plainview, Texas, on Wednesday, saying he saw leaks and openings that animals could use to enter the building.
